Peer Review Process

The author creates an account on the Jurnal KOMUNITAS website and submits the article.
The Editor in Chief conducts an initial review (1–2 weeks) considering the following points: (a) Alignment of the manuscript with the journal's scope; (b) Originality and significance of the manuscript; (c) Adherence to writing guidelines; (d) Check for the manuscript's similarity level.
The Editor in Chief makes a decision based on the initial review, categorized as follows: (a) Rejection: the manuscript is returned to the author with specific comments; (b) Revision required: the manuscript is returned to the author with specific comments; the author must revise the manuscript and re-upload it to the system based on the review findings; (c) Acceptance for the peer review stage: the manuscript is assigned to an editor to select reviewers.

The editor identifies reviewers based on the manuscript's topic. The manuscript is then distributed to external reviewers via a double-blind peer review process (4–8 weeks).
External reviewers provide substantive comments on the manuscript and offer recommendations as follows: (a) Accepted without revision, (b) Revision required, (c) Rejected.
Before making a final decision, the editor considers the reviewers' comments and recommendations: (a) Rejected means the manuscript will no longer be considered for publication; (b) Accepted without revision means the manuscript is accepted in its entirety without changes; (c) Revision required means the manuscript needs improvements in response to the reviewers' comments.

An acceptance letter is sent to the author after the author has completed the revisions as outlined in the comments.
If the manuscript is accepted, it will be sent for copyediting.
Before publication, the manuscript is sent to the author for final review and layout approval.
If the author requests changes, they must revise the manuscript and resubmit it via the system. The editor will decide whether to accept the manuscript for the next stage or require a second round of revisions.
No changes may be made to a manuscript once it has been approved.
